TYPHOON MEDIUM SCALE CONCENTRATOR

  • APT’s revolutionary Typhoon is a medium scale, high efficiency concentrator for precious metals.

  • Highly efficient cone with the grooves having horizontal upper sections to better hold the concentrates in place.

  • The cone in fluidised via an exoskeleton of stainless steel pipes as opposed to a water jacket. Water flow is smoother and more uniform and there is nowhere for silt in the fluidisation water to build up, cause imbalance and choke things up.

  • You do not need to remove the cone to clean out the fluidisation system, it is back-flushed to clean out each line in-situ. This is fast and easy to perform.

  • The fluidisation is delivered via stainless steel jets which are easy to change out if they become worn or blocked. Again this can be performed in-situ.

  • The fluidisation valves come in two sizes, usually 2mm and 1.5mm. The cone fluidisation pattern can therefore be tuned to your gold size profile, usually with coarse jets at the bottom and finer jets at the top where the fine gold will be collected.

  • Fluidisation water usage per tonne of feed capacity is one of the lowest in the industry.

  • Fluidisation water quality is less critical than it is with competitor machines, particularly with respect to silt content. Since there is nowhere for the silt to build up it ejects the Typhoon system via the high-line velocity fluidisation tubes.

  • The entire rotating assembly, as well as the outer tailings launder is manufactured out of stainless steel.

  • The tailings launder is conical in shape to direct the tailings splash downwards and also to give more volume at the base to accommodate the slower volume tailings on their way out of the machine. This gives the overall unit more volumetric feed capacity.

  • The cone is one-piece high wear resistant polyurethane. When a cone replacement is required, the old cone liner is lifted out and a new one is fitted, all with the rotating assembly remaining in place. All that is necessary is to remove the lid to gain access. A quick, easy and inexpensive operation.

  • Linatex is used throughout to increase machine life.

  • The Typhoon is entirely manufactured by APT. No complex order procedure is required and spares are readily available ex- Johannesburg.
